About me and my work as a mental health professional
Born in Montreal, my need to see the horizon from a pebbled hore or a mountain ridge brought me to Squamish. Now this is my home and I found here the lifestyle that suits me. I run in the woods, play in my garden and explore with friends. And just sitting with a cup of coffee can be plenty.
I have been working in the mental health field for about 15 years, and started my private practice in 2019. I am happy to contribute in my modest way as a counsellor to the great community of Squamish!
A meeting with me is like having a conversation with someone who has your best interests in mind. Being a counsellor is also more than just being an empathetic ear! I find helpful to have clear goals in mind and articulate how ‘feeling better’ would look like for you. You can expect from me that I will ask questions, reflect to you your actions and words, provide encouragement to experiment with change and use different tools or strategies. I can see humour when it is there and share knowledge when it is needed. Ultimately, I want to help you handle life’s challenges, feel better, unstuck and carry on leading your life.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC#15433). I engage in regular clinical supervision and professional development activities to expand my knowledge and skills as a therapist.
My office is safe for all genders, sexual orientations and ethnicities. My pronouns are she/her.
